Excalibur Electronics
Dear Mr. Samole,
Browsing
through the June issue of Sky Magazine recently, I was excited to
read about the Jokemaster—but not just because it looks like a fun
gizmo. I’ve had a similar idea turning around in my head for a few
months now, and I think Excalibur would be the ideal company to bring
it to market.
The product I envision is called the Cliché Buddy™,
and a comparable magazine promo might sound something like this:
The
boss is wrapping up his weekly staff meeting diatribe. You know it’s
only a matter of time before he barks out your name and asks you the
dreaded question: “What are your thoughts?” Your mind is a vacuum,
devoid of any appropriate comments—but thanks to the Cliché Buddy
($29.95), you just might keep your job. With more than 1,000 handy
idioms broken down by category, you’re virtually assured of having
a comeback for anything—whether it’s good news (“Looks like our strategy
really grew some legs!”) or bad news (“The solution’s going to require
some heavy lifting.”). It even features a panic button that supplies
a really nebulous phase in case of emergency (“We just need to drill
down to the core issues.”) A perfect gift for anyone looking to get
ahead.
I appreciate your time, and your consideration of this
idea. If you like what you’ve heard so far I’d be pleased to discuss
it further. Feel free to call me anytime at (205) XXX-XXXX.
Sincerely,
Steve
